Health Screening Before and During Employment

To provide flexibility to suit all budgets, we can offer paper-based health questionnaires prior to, and during current employment, as well as face-to-face physical health assessments.

The paper-based assessment questionnaires would be completed by employees or prospective employees.

These assessments can either be sent to Holborn Medical Centre directly or emailed as an attachment for one of the partners to review (many online assessments have confidentiality and information governance implications). There is a small fee for the initial review of these documents to cover administration costs.

If a medical issue was highlighted from the paper-based assessment, a face-to-face assessment would be requested with the employee or prospective employee, focusing on any areas flagged up by the questionnaire. Of particular relevance to organisations are psychological and lifestyle related issues, which may warrant a face-to-face assessment (see next tab).

Occupational Health Assessments

A face-to-face occupational health assessment takes between 1/2-1hr depending on complexity.

This process would ensure that a prospective employee is suitably matched to the job they have applied for and any medical problems which could affect the ability of the employee to carry out the role set out in their job description could be highlighted. It also serves to pre-empt any potential health problems in the workplace for prospective and existing employees and enables tailored adaptation of the workplace, job description or working pattern at an early stage to comply with relevant legislation including the Disability Discrimination Act.

Flu Vaccines

Another service which is popular with the companies and institutions we look after, is the provision and administration of private flu vaccinations for staff. This significantly reduces working days lost due to sickness from the flu. 

Outbreaks of flu can be common in the winter period and can cause serious respiratory symptoms particularly in staff with heart and lung conditions.

After flu vaccination it can take up to 2 weeks to develop immunity (protection) against flu. Vaccination is therefore best undertaken in September, October or November to provide immunity throughout the winter period.

We would advise you to book this service with us in August if possible, so we can order the appropriate number of flu vaccinations for your company/institution in good time.

One of our trained GPs or Practice Nurses will come round to your company to administer the flu vaccines on a mutually convenient day and at a flexible time to suit the needs of your business.
